Learning Centres of the Project Talim
A local specific and contextual curriculum has been developed for girls of the selected villages who are mostly Muslims. This is with a view that the disempowered girls need to be equipped with the information, skills and knowledge that will help them to negotiate choices for themselves. The content and methods is designed in such a way that they bring into household issues of their lives as a subject on whom they deliberate and examine their views and thoughts.
The state government syllabus up to class V will be followed in the Learning Centres as the emphasis is to help them join the mainstream education, however, the approach of teaching and learning will be different from normal regular schools keeping in mind the need of the girls of this region. Learning centres will impart gender sensitive education to girls with formal education.
